Brabantia has enlisted the help of Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, to colour its stylish Mineral Range of retro and Flatback+ bins in dark blue, mint green and a special, custom-designed pink.
Brabantia, established in 1919 in the Netherlands, has grown into a global interior design brand, renowned for bringing smart and stylish design to kitchen and to home ware. Its iconic bins are a staple feature in stylish kitchens.
When Brabantia introduced its Mineral Collection of retro and Flatback+ bins in response to interior design trends that embrace warm and luxurious modern materials, it wanted to present them in very special colours. Alesta® Azurite 3 was chosen for the dark blue and Alesta Emerald 3 was selected for the mint green; both colours are part of the Axalta Star Collection.
But the pink was a harder choice. Working in close cooperation with Brabantia, Axalta created a custom pink especially for the bin. And more than just colour, the textured finish on the bins that the Alesta powder coating delivers combines stylish expression with excellent scratch- and wear-resistance.

It developed the right combination of colour and texture which makes our bins look retro and contemporary at the same time."
