Back to (the new) normality.

In May, we experienced the same uncertainty and caution as those who set foot outside the house after a heavy storm: assessing the damage is a must, but the desire to start over and get back on track is great.

The situation is made even more peculiar and complicated by the fact that while many countries have resumed a semblance of normality, others are still in a state of emergency.

And it is precisely with this awareness that in June we published the first episode of Beyond The Pandemic, a series of interviews that aims at bringing you a real and unfiltered testimony of how the sector is dealing with the pandemic. The first episode brought us the testimony of a company from northern Italy, one of the areas most affected by Covid-19. The next episode, currently in the making, will instead bring you the point of view of an international company. We therefore invite you to keep following our social channels and in particular our YouTube channel so as to not miss the next interviews.

In this new-found normality we have also published the first magazine post-lockdown: issue n. 34 of ipcm® Protective Coatings. In this issue you can find several articles dedicated to corrosion protection technologies in the energy sector and also a series of interviews with industry associations, which offer readers a 360-degree view of the surface treatment market.

In June, we also started to travel nationally once again: you can read the results of these trips on the pages of the July issue of ipcm, which will include eight exclusive articles. And even though we were able to hit the road again, the virtual collaboration with our partners still played a pivotal role in the making of these case studies.

Another important news concerns the Academy division: the professional figure of Technician of industrial surface finishing processes (Tecnico dei processi di finitura industriale delle superfici), promoted by ipcm_Academy in collaboration with ASP Mazzini, was officially recognized by the Subcommittee of the Lombardy Region on June 25.

Those who wish to obtain the certificate of Technician, which is recognized at European level, can take part in the ipcm_Academy training course, starting in September. E-mail us at corsi@ipcm.it for more information.
