Unprecedented Industrial Dialogues: Eurosurfas webinars to address the challenges of the industry after the Covid-19 pandemic

Eurosurfas, the International Surface Treatment Event of Fira de Barcelona, launched a series of free webinars scheduled from June 2-5 to discuss the role of circular economy, digitization, and new technologies with various experts.

Unprecented Industrial Dialogues started onJune 2nd at 11 a.m with an inaugural online act in which Giampiero Cortinovis, President of Eurosurfas, Carles Navarro, President of Expoquimia, Bernd Roegele, President of Equiplast, Alicia Richart, president of DigitalEs, Alicia Martín, general director for Spain and Portugal of Plastics Europe, Pilar González, head of the Department of Institutional Promotion and Territorial Cooperation of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), participated.

OnJune 3rd, at 4 p.m., the second webinar on the ability shown by various sectors to adapt their production to the needs of the moment in a flexible manufacturing exercise took place. During this panel discussion, moderated by Ferran Fillat, director of the 3D Lab project at the Parc Taulí University Hospital in Sabadell, the president of the ICT Secartys cluster, Àlex Morales, the head of operations of the Center for the Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technologies (CIMTI), Elisenda Casanella, the head of the 3D printing unit of the Altahia Foundation, Bartomeu Ayala, and Roberto Bisso and Simón Carpman, directors of the Argentine startup Inventu spoke.

On 4th June at 11 a.m., the Director of Innovation of Acció, Aurea Rodríguez, and the representative of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), María José Tomás talked about the technology transfer, a process through which the industry applies research and work carried out by technology and research centers, in a session moderated by the co-director of the Nanomol Center for Technological Innovation, Nora Ventosa.

The last webinar of this series took place on June 5th at 11 a.m. with a panel discussion on the circular economy, in a session moderated by the general director for Spain and Portugal of Plastics Europe, Alicia Martín, in which attended the Business Director of AIMPLAS, Sergio Giménez, the director of the LEITAT Environment unit, Marta Escamilla, and the director of TECNALIA Healthy Food, Mari Carmen Villarán Velasco.

With this last webinar, Eurosurfas joins the celebration of the United Nations World Environment Day, which this year has biodiversity as its theme.
