To provide an environmentally friendly and cost-reducing wastewater treatment for production process, H2O has developed and launched ZLD 300, a new VACUDEST ZLD technology.

Steinen in Baden-based company H2O has developed ZLD 300, a new VACUDEST technology for sustainable wastewater treatment. The VACUDEST vacuum distillation systems can help companies cope with the globally increasing water shortage and reduce the wastewater volume and cut disposal costs by up to 70%. However, the remaining residual water content of the residue can make complete disposal difficult.

To provide a solution to this problem, H2O developed ZLD 300. With the new technology, through efficient energy recycling, high-quality energy is used in a second downstream evaporation stage to achieve a reduction of the residual water content to up to 20%. The residue obtained can be processed into compact concentrate. This results in savings in disposal costs of up to another 50% and reduces operating costs to a minimum.

Depending on the wastewater, the residues contain valuable raw materials in the form of oils or dissolved salts. In this case, the concentrate obtained can be sold, for example in the form of auxiliary fuels, or reused in the own production.

VACUDEST ZLD 300 can be used in combination with the patented Clearcat technology and is currently available for VACUDEST systems of size L.
