Perfectly polished and cleaned

Perfectly polished surfaces make sense only if the manufactured parts achieve the demanded technical cleanliness. Otherwise the customer – whether user or assembly works – will not accept the parts. The choice of cleaning method is the decisive factor with regard to whether the parts cleaning system achieves the defined cleanliness economically and with process reliability.

Grinding, honing/lapping, slide grinding and polishing are material-removing surface treatments that generally entail dirt. The type of dirt depends on the machining process, the cutting fluids employed and the workpiece material. These are in turn the decisive factors with regard to whether a cleaning process with aqueous media or with solvents will lead to the best result.

Parts polished with emulsion or oil are cleaned using a continuous-flow process or in batching plants, depending on the geometry, surface and cleaning objective. At GrindTec 2014, March 19 – 22 (Augsburg, Germany), Booth 2006 in Hall 2, Pero AG will provide information about its various systems for the cleaning of parts and the optimum cleaning medium for parts with treated surfaces. The main focus will be on the subjects of freedom from blemishes, energy efficiency, service lives and the costs of disposing of cleaning media. For more information: www.pero.ag
