Passive fire protection, Fire Proofing 2014 conference, the choice between inorganic and epoxy zinc in coating specifications and corrosion protection of rolling stock: These are the main topics of the new issue.

The ninth issue of ipcm®Protective Coatings focuses on a "hot" topic: passive fire protection technologies, with new developments about intumescent paints. This subject is directly related to the Fire Proofing 2014 conference: Organised by ipcmProtective Coatings, it will be held on May 21, 2014 to present the state of the art and the product innovations in this sector, and the point of view of those in charge of passive fire protection systems for social or industrial engineering works. The conference will also provide the participants with the opportunity to attend interesting application tests of new PFP products with advanced equipment.

Thanks to the contribution of a corrosion technologist, this issue of ipcm®Protective Coatings provides another interesting topic: The choice between inorganic and epoxy zinc in coating specifications. Finally, we present some new articles on the corrosion protection of rolling stock through coatings, inhibitors in the vapour phase and Sol-Gel technology, topics presented at the Railcorr 2014 conference (organized by eos Mktg&Communication and ipcm®Protective Coatings, article at page 55) on April, 1, at the EXPO Ferroviaria, in Turin (Italy).
