VpCI®-645 is a non-toxic, bio-based, biodegradable, concentrated formulation that protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals from corrosive solutions containing chlorides. It is designed to provide the most effective three phase corrosion protection in fresh water, salt water, brine, and other highly corrosive solutions containing dissolved halogens. VpCI®-645 provides long term effectiveness in a low dosage. It is used as a treatment for a wide variety of marine and process applications to stop aggressive corrosion.
This water-based, nitrite and amine free corrosion inhibitor is excellent replacement for hazardous nitrite and chromate-based formulations. Being environmentally safe to use, VpCI®-645 helps solve the problem of disposal, particularly for large quantities of water. It has the most favorable CO2 footprint and is readily water-soluble which makes application easy.

Untreated panels

Panels treated with VpCI® 645 - no signs of corrosion
Typical applications include closed circuit cooling and heating systems containing brines or water, desalination plants, packer fluid applications, wet lay-up of boilers, pipelines, vessels and pulp and paper process equipment. It prevents water-bottom corrosion in oil storage tanks and ballast tanks of ship and offshore platforms. VpCI®-645 conforms to NACE RP-0487-2000 standard and is ROHS compliant.
Company TPK Nova, the largest producer of boilers and hot wells, located in Zagreb, Croatia, had numerous corrosion problems while testing, shipping, and during storage. Corrosion was slowing down production and the company was receiving complaints from customers. They selected VpCI®-645 and used it during pressure testing of the equipment. Closed system was designed using water treated with VpCI®-645. TPK Nova achieved great results in corrosion elimination, increased production and preserved customer retention.
