Automotive and Specialty Coatings has selected Soulful Sage™
as its 2027 Colour of the Year. The shade is the centrepiece of Live Lightly, a colour direction developed from research by AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center and insights from its Specialty Coatings colour experts.
Soulful Sage can be translated into finishes ranging from matt to high gloss, as well as textured and soft-touch surfaces. Metallic and other effect coatings offer further options for adjusting how the colour reflects light. The collection is intended for applications in automotive, consumer electronics and aircraft interiors.
Three complementary palettes expand the range of colours available to designers:
- Glow combines warm tones and soft metallics with cool sage.
- Pure brings together balanced neutrals for a restrained look.
- Lift pairs bright botanical colours with pastels and expressive finishes.
