AkzoNobel Unveils Interpon Futura 2026–2029: A New Chapter in Sustainable Architecture

Date: 14/04/2026

By combining technical excellence with environmental responsibility, the 2026–2029 Collection offers a modern toolkit for designers looking to create spaces that are as resilient as they are visually striking.

AkzoNobel Powder Coatings has officially launched its Interpon D2525 Futura 2026–2029 Collection, introducing a fresh palette of superdurable finishes to the European and North American architectural markets. The new range aims to bridge the gap between "heritage-inspired" aesthetics and the rigorous sustainability demands of the future.

For over two decades, the Futura series has served as a benchmark for architectural trends. The latest iteration continues this legacy through two distinct design pillars:

  • High Serenity: A palette of muted, nature-derived tones, think warm stone and quiet browns, designed for understated elegance.
  • Bold Adventure: A more vibrant selection featuring earthy reds and regal blues with glistening finishes intended to inspire confidence.

In a significant shift for the industry, AkzoNobel is integrating its Eco+ sustainability features as standard rather than optional extras. The collection utilises Low-E (Low Emission) technology, allowing the powder to cure at lower temperatures or higher speeds, thereby reducing energy consumption during the manufacturing process.

Furthermore, all products manufactured within the EMEA region will now feature bio-attributed raw materials, significantly lowering the carbon footprint of the coating without compromising its famed durability.

“Sustainable coating choices should not come at a higher cost or as a specialist option. Futura reflects our 'Own Your Impact' approach—delivering practical benefits that help architects make responsible choices with confidence,” has stated Jorrit van Rijn, Global Marketing Director at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings.
