Cortec® has officially unveiled EcoLine® Surface Reveal, a next-generation industrial paint stripper designed to challenge the dominance of harsh chemicals. Boasting a significantly increased 77% USDA-certified biobased content, this biodegradable formula offers a safer, high-performance alternative for heavy-duty maintenance and restoration.
This latest iteration marks a substantial leap forward from previous formulations, which contained roughly 50% biobased materials. Beyond the environmental credentials, the new formula addresses a critical gap in the market by providing a powerful stripping agent that remains free of methylene chloride
and NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone)—toxic substances recently restricted by the EPA due to health risks.
Industrial paint removal has traditionally relied on aggressive solvents that evaporate quickly and pose respiratory hazards. EcoLine® Surface Reveal takes a different approach:
- Superior Wetting:
Unlike methylene chloride, which can flash off too quickly, this formula features enhanced wetting properties. This allows it to dwell on the surface longer, effectively penetrating and lifting stubborn coatings.

On standard acrylic and alkyd coatings, the product typically works within 15 to 30 minutes.
