The Pittsburgh Business Times has recognised Diane Kappas from PPG for her performances and impact on local communities.

PPG has recently announced that the Pittsburgh Business Times has honoured its vice-president of Global Sustainability Diane Kappas as a “2022 Woman of Influence”.

Kappas has been recognised for her performances and the difference made for the local communities. The award recognises the most influential businesswomen in all industry sectors in the Pittsburgh area. In her current role, she drives the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, such as reducing the environmental impact of operations, growing the positive impact in the communities in which PPG operates and increasing sales of sustainably advantaged products to create value for customers.

“Diane has been a key leader at PPG for more than three decades and a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), forging new paths for countless women and many other colleagues at PPG. She has made a significant positive impact within our organization by successfully running numerous functions and businesses and paving the way for our ongoing focus on DE&I. I look forward to her continued leadership in strengthening the sustainability of our operations and products,” has stated Michael McGarry, the chairman and CEO of PPG.

Kappas co-founded the Women’s Leadership Council of PPG more than two decades ago, in order to attract, develop and retain female talent. In addition, she also served as an executive sponsor and is an active member of the LGBTQ+ employee resource network of the company.

Furthermore, Kappas represents PPG in the Sustainability 50, a private community for sustainability leaders from globally respected organisations to share ideas and solutions and collaborate on climate change issues.
