The super-durable Interpon D Stone Effect powder coating provides aluminium surfaces with the look and texture of stone.

AkzoNobel Powder Coatings has recently announced that it has introduced its super-durable Interpon D Stone Effect powder coating also in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Architects and designers will now be able to apply the natural look and texture of stone also on aluminium surfaces without the drawbacks associated with using the actual material.

Portland stone, limestone and other stone effect finishes are highly requested around the globe. However, natural stone erodes over time and needs constant repair. Interpon D Stone Effect powder coating is a more sustainable and cost-effective easy-to-apply alternative solution to traditional fibre cement or fiberglass concrete used in pre-clad modular facades.

Interpon powder coatings protect aluminium surfaces over the long term and provide the practical advantages of not having to source, transport, install and maintain real stone. In addition, they are also much lighter – so are easier to handle and reduce weight-induced stress on the overall structure – and require less materials.

Interpon D Stone Effect powder coating meets several of the most stringent performance requirements, including AAMA2604 and the AS1530 fire test, and is backed by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), that contributes to LEED and Green Star points.
