After a thorough review, allnex announced that it will close its manufacturing sites in Penrose (New Zealand) and Botany (Australia).

The international provider of sustainable and innovative resins for industrial coatings allnex has recently announced the closing of its manufacturing site in Penrose by the end of 2024. The company is also planning to discontinue the Botany site within five years, while maintaining the continuity of services for the coatings and composites markets in the Wacol hub (Australia).

“By making these strategic changes, allnex is taking proactive measures to ensure a sustainable future for the businesses and the sourcing needs of our customers,” has stated Miguel Mantas, CEO of allnex.

The strategic decision has been reached after a thorough review of all regional operations, revealing long term business sustainability concerns at both facilities. The company is currently defining specific local and international options within its broad manufacturing network that will enable a continued and competitive supply of customers in the region.

These measures will affect the manufacturing employees in both locations. However, allnex will provide comprehensive support during the transition period.
