Expanding the production capacity of UV/LED curing resins will allow Arkema to develop more sustainable solutions for the Asian market.

The international manufacturer of specialty chemicals Arkema has expanded the production of the Sartomer® UV/LED curing resins at its facility in Nansha (China). So, the company will now be able to support the development of more sustainable solutions for fast-growing applications in Asian markets, such as electronics and renewable energies.

The project is part of Arkema's strategy to expand its portfolio of sustainable and high-performance materials, which includes UV/LED, powder, water-based and high solids technologies. In addition, the capacity expansion of the Nansha site leverages new process and manufacturing standards: as a matter of fact, the entire factory has developed an energy efficiency programme to reach the zero-carbon growth by purchasing green electricity and adopting solar panels.

“Doubling the capacity of the Nansha plant will allow us to support the growth, innovation and regional supply of our customers in Asia. The accelerating need for lower carbon solutions is creating new opportunities for the UV/LED curing technology, which is expanding fast to a wider range of substrates and applications” has commented Richard Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Arkema’s Coating Solutions.
