Automatic Door and Panel Coating: Lesta ROTATION UNIT RHT or Easy PROG PORTAL

Date: 14/01/2026

The Lesta ROTATION UNIT RHT is the ideal system for fully automated door coating, providing uniform and consistent finishes even on panels and window frames.

The Lesta ROTATION UNIT RHT is an advanced floor-mounted rotation unit designed to handle large-surface workpieces such as doors and panels efficiently. Its rotation parallel to the floor allows the robot to reach every side of the workpiece, ensuring uniform spraying and minimizing operator intervention. It can be used independently, integrated into carousel arms, or connected to a conveyor, easily adapting to the various configurations typical of industrial painting systems.

How the Lesta ROTATION UNIT RHT works

The ROTATION UNIT RHT can be mounted on both arms of a carousel, creating a two-arm configuration ideal for continuous, fully automated door coating.

With this configuration, the operator simply loads a door into the loading area. The scanner stores the data for each door, and the software generates the specific program. The robot then paints according to the preset recipe automatically. The operator only needs to unload the fully painted door, including all sides.

Easy PROG PORTAL: smart scanning for doors and panels

The Easy PROG PORTAL system is specifically designed for coating window frames, panels, and doors. Its strength lies in its ability to automatically generate the coating path without any manual intervention.

System components

  • Portal with photoelectric barriers for scanning the actual shape.
  • Easy PROG software, which automatically generates the coating path.
  • Possibility of installation outside the cabin, with ATEX-compatible robots and external axes.

Recipe parameters and system settings

Once the geometry of the door is detected, the Easy PROG software generates the coating path based on the selected recipe, which includes:

  • Spraying strategy
  • Application speed
  • Gun-to-workpiece distance
  • Gun angle
  • Tilting
  • Number of guns
  • Gun opening
  • Blending and overlap

System technical specifications

  • Maximum workpiece size: 3 x 3 m
  • Scanning resolution: 5 x 5 mm
  • Recommended hooks: cross-section ≤ 10 mm
  • Compatibility with strips, glass beads, and narrow objects using appropriate supports

Usage requirements

  • Any holes in the workpieces must be covered to ensure they are not mistaken for edges during coating.
  • Laser barriers must be protected from direct sunlight to maintain scanning accuracy.
The workpiece may tilt from the vertical in the direction of travel.

Main applications

The Easy PROG PORTAL system is ideal for manufacturers of:

  • Interior and exterior doors
  • Disassembled kitchen panels
  • Cladding and furniture panels
  • Windows and window frames
  • Frames and subframes
  • It is compatible with both liquid and powder coating systems, even those without Lesta robots.

Lesta ROTATION UNIT Types

  1. Lesta ROTATION UNIT RA: Aerial rotation unit mounted on the conveyor. Rotates workpieces on their vertical axis and can operate at two different pitches.
  2. Lesta ROTATION UNIT RT: Floor-mounted rotation unit with rotation perpendicular to the floor. Can be used independently, on a carousel, or on a conveyor.
  3. Lesta ROTATION UNIT RHT: Floor-mounted rotation unit with rotation parallel to the floor. Perfect for fully automated coating of doors and panels.
