The British Coatings Federation has updated its Manifesto for the paints and coatings sector.

The British Coatings Federation has recently announced that has decided to update its Manifesto related to the paints and coatings sector, in order to request the next Government to take action to preserve and advance the local industry. It can be read, downloaded, and shared here.

The association already launched its Essential Coatings Report and the related Manifesto for the Coatings Sector at a reception in the House of Commons back in December 2023. The document was focussed on explaining how critical coatings are to British industry, the national economy and even the wider society at large, while the Manifesto proposed five broad tasks to the Government, in order to ensure that the sector could continue to thrive in the next future.

The five main topics are:

  1. A proportionate, clear and consistent regulatory environment for chemicals;
  2. An industrial strategy to support manufacturing;
  3. Support for businesses to make the transition to a more sustainable United Kingdom;
  4. Long-term focus on skills and training;
  5. Improving post-Brexit trade.
