DIC Introduced the HYDRAN™ GP Environment-Friendly Waterborne Polyurethane Resins

Date: 29/06/2023

The HYDRAN™ GP Series of waterborne polyurethane resins recently launched by DIC reduce greenhouse gas emissions and VOCs.

DIC Corporation has announced the launch of the HYDRAN™ GP series of environment-friendly waterborne polyurethane resins, a new product portfolio with a higher solid content than conventional solutions for the paints and coatings market.

The HYDRAN™ GP series of waterborne polyurethane resins developed by DIC ensure flexibility, strength and resistance to abrasion, chemical agents and light. In addition, they do not contain odour-causing amines or organic solvents, so they have no adverse effects on human health or the environment and reduce both unpleasant smells and the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during processing and in finished products.

Moreover, by increasing the resin concentration from 35%–50% to 50%–60% and lowering water content, greenhouse gas emissions from raw materials procurement through to the production of finished products can be as much as 60% less than with solvent-based polyurethane resins.
