Freudenberg to present filtration solutions for modern dry separation at PaintExpo 2016.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has secured the exclusive distribution rights for edrizzi® paint mist arrestors from Brainflash Patententwicklungs GmbH for the automotive industry and its suppliers. With their innovative and simple design, edrizzi® paint mist arrestors enable affordable and efficient dry separation solutions for paint shops. They can be ideally integrated as prefilters into multi-stage filter systems from Freudenberg Filtration Technologies and effectively complete the company's range of services. Freudenberg will be presenting these and other dry separation solutions on Stand 2628 in Hall 2 at this year's PaintExpo, which will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 19-22 April 2016.

edrizzi® paint mist arrestors are made from flame retardant corrugated board and their major innovation is hidden away inside. This consists of a convoluted system of edges and openings, through which the paint mist is sucked. This structure allows the filter boxes reach a capacity of up to 100 kg/m2 and a separation rate of 97 percent. Another advantage of the filter boxes is cost-effective disposal. The material also offers a valuable side effect. Because they are made from corrugated board, the filter boxes reduce noise levels in painting zones by up to 20 decibels. In addition, the economical conversion offered by Freudenberg Filtration Technologies usually quickly repays its cost, making the switch from wet to dry separation both easy and profitable.

Multi-stage filter systems for efficient dry separation Changing to a dry system is advantageous for many reasons. For a start, there is no requirement to use water for overspray separation, while expensive and time-consuming paint sludge disposal is also eliminated. It is also possible to dispense with costly chemicals for coagulation and defoaming. Overall, both time and costs can be considerably reduced. With their multi-stage filtration solutions, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies enables efficient and reliable dry separation based on an extensive product and service portfolio. After pre-filtration by edrizzi® paint mist arrestors, Viledon® compact pocket filters, for example, ensure clean air control.

Made using Freudenberg's own high-tech synthetic filter media. Viledon® filter plates are especially suitable for dry separation involving stone powder. The company sets standards in the automotive industry in particular by protecting against paint damage caused by airborne particles with its multi-stage filtration systems for fresh and recirculated air. In the prefiltration stage, Viledon® compact pocket filters separate the majority of dust particles. Viledon® MaxiPleat cassette filters are used in the subsequent filter stages, while Viledon® HiProTec high-temperature filters are employed in the paint dryer. Used as a security filter, the adhesive finish of Viledon® ceiling filter mats achieves almost one hundred percent separation of injurious particles in the paint spray zone.

Optimizing paint shop processes with Viledon® filterCair An economic and efficient combination of filters always involves an individual solution. That is why on-site conditions need to be taken into consideration when developing the filter system. These can include, for example, the quality of the ambient air, the design of the ventilation system or the quality requirements of the operator. For this reason, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies developed Viledon® filterCair. This is a comprehensive air quality management system for the optimization of coating processes as well as the maintenance and repair of technical equipment. Viledon® filterCair is a customized service package that combines high quality filter products with service offerings and warranties. The system is currently in use with numerous automotive manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.
