Henkel to Showcase Solutions for Resource-Efficient Pretreatment and Finishing at ALUMINIUM 2026

Date: 17/09/2026

ALUMINIUM will take place from 6th to 8th October 2026 in Düsseldorf (Germany), where Henkel will showcase its latest technologies for the surface treatment industry.

At ALUMINIUM 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8 in Düsseldorf, Henkel Adhesive Technologies will showcase at booth 3H68 how innovative surface treatment technologies can help aluminum finishers improve process efficiency, reduce resource consumption and achieve measurable sustainability benefits.

Under the theme “Pioneering Performance,” Henkel will present selected solutions from its Bonderite portfolio, as well as equipment and technical services for the pretreatment and finishing of aluminum. Each solution included in the showcase is designed to help aluminum processors address a specific production challenge: reducing the energy required for sealing, improving the efficiency and stability of anodising, or achieving reliable pretreatment performance for aluminum profiles and coils. Together, they support more efficient operations, consistent surface quality and lower resource consumption. As a special highlight, Henkel will also offer visitors a first look at the new APNR 2.0 solution, a new no-rinse adhesion promoter for aluminum pretreatment.

For customers looking to reduce the energy intensity of their finishing processes, Bonderite M-ED 11204 enables mid-temperature sealing at around 85 °C instead of conventional hot sealing temperatures. This helps lower the energy required to heat and maintain the sealing bath while preserving reliable sealing performance. Bonderite M-AD 2000A supports aluminum processors in making sulfuric acid anodizing more efficient and stable. By enabling operation at higher bath temperatures, the additive reduces cooling demand. Its more stable bath chemistry can also help reduce chemical consumption, limit aluminum loss, extend bath life and shorten process times. The result is a more efficient anodizing operation with consistent coating quality.

For the aluminum coil market, Bonderite M-NT 61000 is a new-generation, non-chromium pretreatment solution designed to deliver reliable, consistent performance for architectural applications and improved paint adhesion. It helps manufacturers combine the surface quality their customers expect with more efficient and sustainable process management. In addition, Bonderite M-NT 5200 is a chromium-free pretreatment suitable for both spray and dip application processes, offering the flexibility to meet aluminum coil customer requirements across architectural and other industrial market segments. For the aluminum coil customers catering to Can End Stock (CES) and food packaging market, Bonderite M-NT 811 is a dry-in-place, chromium-free pretreatment specifically developed for compatibility with the latest generation formulated without BPA-NI and PFAS lacquer systems, helping customers meet evolving regulatory and sustainability requirements.

“Aluminum finishers are under increasing pressure to improve sustainability and profitability while maintaining reliable production and high surface quality. At ALUMINIUM 2026, we will showcase solutions that help customers make their pretreatment and finishing processes more efficient and future-ready,” has stated Darshan Mehta, Business Development Manager, Light Metal Treatment Europe at Henkel.

Visitors to the Henkel booth will be able to see the APNR 2.0 equipment as a first preview of the new solution. Demonstration panels and sample components will illustrate the performance of Henkel’s pretreatment technologies, including paint adhesion results. An interactive digital optimization tool will demonstrate how production lines can be monitored and optimized remotely. Henkel’s technical experts will be available throughout the exhibition to discuss individual process requirements and sustainability challenges. The team will advise visitors on applications in architectural aluminum, aluminum profiles, anodizing lines and aluminum coils, as well as on solutions for sectors such as can end stock, furniture, transportation and general industry.

On the first evening of the exhibition, Henkel will host a networking event at its booth to celebrate 30 years of its certified aluminum pretreatment solution. Customers, partners and industry professionals are invited to mark three decades of innovation, technical expertise and trusted collaboration.
