New high-performance range signals strategic expansion beyond traditional raw materials into coatings and adhesives.
hubergroup Chemicals has announced the launch of ELARA, a new brand of high-performance additives designed for coatings and adhesives. The portfolio will make its official debut at PaintIndia
2026 in Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in the company’s transformation into a broader solutions partner for formulators worldwide.
With performance expectations rising, regulatory frameworks tightening and sustainability targets becoming more demanding, additives have emerged as essential components in modern formulations. ELARA has been developed to address this shift, combining scientific precision with practical application across a wide range of systems.
From dispersion and wetting to process stability and surface quality, additives play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of coating and ink systems. With ELARA, hubergroup Chemicals consolidates its expertise in polymer and surface chemistry into a structured, application-driven platform.
The name ELARA, inspired by one of Jupiter’s moons, symbolises stability, precision and orientation within complex systems. Each product has been developed with a clearly defined function, designed to deliver maximum performance both individually and as part of a balanced formulation.
The ELARA portfolio includes:
- ELARA Disperion 400: Non-aqueous dispersing agents for organic and inorganic pigments, carbon blacks, extenders and matting agents. Developed for high pigment loading, strong colour development and robust process stability in solvent-based, solvent-free and UV/EB systems.
- ELARA Disperion 500: Aqueous dispersing agents offering high colour consistency, reproducible quality and broad binder compatibility. Suitable for VOC-free and biocide-free formulations in coatings and printing inks.
- ELARA Wetora 300: Wetting agents for water-based, solvent-based, solvent-free and UV-curable systems. Designed to improve substrate wetting, ensure uniform pigment incorporation and reduce surface defects, even on demanding substrates.
The ELARA range reflects the company’s focus on responsible chemistry, with many grades formulated to be solvent-free or VOC-reduced in line with global sustainability objectives. The portfolio has been designed for compatibility across solvent-based, water-based and UV-curable systems, providing formulators with flexibility and security of supply.
