Thanks to Dürr’s automated systems, Interstuhl ensures a uniform coating for its chairs, combining innovation, electrical conductivity, and the highest quality in industrial production.
Interstuhl Büromöbel GmbH & Co. KG, one of Europe’s leading high-quality office chair manufacturers, has integrated Dürr’s
advanced coating technology into the production of its industrial and laboratory chairs.
The new system automates the coating of foam mould interiors, enabling precise application of up to five colours using the modular EcoSupply2 Core station and 2K control via the EcoAUC system. The EcoGun AS AUTO PRO spray gun ensures uniform application as soon as the liquid polyurethane foam is poured into the mould, providing both colour and electrical conductivity.
“The coating performs essential functions: in addition to colour, it ensures the necessary electrical conductivity, which is vital for environments such as cleanrooms or electrostatic discharge-protected areas,” has explained Fabian Schilt, Head of Industrial Sales Europe at Dürr.
In September 2025, Dürr collaborated with Hennecke to install a robotic coating system at Interstuhl’s Meßstetten-Tieringen site. The system includes six EcoSupply2 Core stations, a coating robot equipped with the EcoGun AS AUTO PRO, and an EcoAUC 2K control unit. Interstuhl currently operates with three colours, but the system is already designed to handle five. Dürr components, including the EcoPump9 dosing pumps and colour-change valves, impressed Interstuhl with their ability to manage complex coating materials without residue or blockages.
“From the very first demonstrations, we were convinced by Dürr’s technology. Their technical support was key to the project’s success,” has added Andreas Kunst of Interstuhl.
