Protech has acquired the liquid coatings business line of Evotech Peintures Industrielles.

Peintures Prolux Inc., part of the Protech Group, has recently announced that on November 16th 2022 it has finalised the purchase agreement for the liquid coatings business unit of Evotech Peintures Industrielles. All manufacturing equipment and the offices will continue to operate under the Protech brand.

Based in Anjou (Canada), Evotech is a liquid coatings manufacturer with a production facility in Ontario and two other service centres in Quebec City and Mississauga. Since 1965, its formulations – notably marketed under the Acrythane® brand – have been widely employed in the windows and doors industry, as well as for commercial vehicles and heavy equipment.

“We look forward to welcoming the talented employees at Evotech to the Protech Group family upon the close of the transaction. This acquisition brings us additional strengths in waterborne and solvent liquid coatings technology and formulations, new relationships with multi-national and local customers, and additional presence with strategically located manufacturing and service sites,” has stated David Ades, the president of Protech.

Originally founded in 1976 as a manufacturer of thermoset powder coatings, the Protech Group has progressively expanded its solutions to include several other technologies, such as thermoplastics and specialty materials. The company is now striving to be an all-encompassing coatings provider to meet the most stringent customer and industry requirements. As a matter of fact, over the past two years it has acquired a total of six businesses, including Excalibur Paints & Coatings Ltd. and Lynx Thermoset Coating.
