The partnership supports Steelpaint’s strategy to grow in regions where vessel maintenance, drydock scheduling, and long-term corrosion protection are critical to shipowners’ operational planning.

Steelpaint has recently appointed ADD Marine as its official representative for Greece and Cyprus, reinforcing the company’s position in two of the world’s busiest shipping markets.

Greece hosts the world’s largest commercial fleet by tonnage, while Cyprus is home to a substantial ship management cluster and a growing repair and retrofit sector, making both markets key for the delivery of proven marine corrosion-protection technologies.

ADD Marine collaborates with shipowners, managers, and yards across the region on maintenance, regulatory compliance, and retrofit projects. The company provides practical support during drydock work, conducts vessel condition assessments, and advises on the implementation of new technical solutions. Its appointment will allow customers to access Steelpaint’s coating systems through a local point of contact.

“ADD Marine understands how shipowners and managers approach their ship repair and newbuild work, and that makes it the right partner to represent us as we expand our activities. The company’s long experience in supporting day-to-day operational decisions and long-term maintenance planning will give customers clear and reliable guidance on where our Stelpant and Stelcatec systems can be used to reduce steel loss and support environmental and cost efficiencies,” Frank Müller, Director of Steelpaint.

Under the new agreement, ADD Marine will introduce the full Steelpaint portfolio, including the established Stelpant coatings and the more recently developed Stelcatec line. The Stelpant range includes the well-known PU-Zinc primer, which can be applied to damp steel, at temperatures as low as -10°C, and in relative humidity up to 98%. It quickly becomes resistant to seawater and rain, enabling work to continue in variable weather and helping reduce drydock time.

Steelpaint’s recently introduced Stelcatec technology, meanwhile, offers a low-VOC option for onboard crew maintenance, while retaining key application, curing, and performance benefits, giving owners and yards an additional route to long-term steel protection.

“We are honoured to represent Steelpaint in the Greek and Cypriot markets. Serving the most demanding shipping communities requires partnerships with professionals that not only have proven capabilities but are flexible and adaptable to market requirements,” has added Andreas Angelidis, co-founder of ADD Marine.

Fleet owners in the region manage large and diverse vessels, and the ability to carry out coating work efficiently and with greater weather flexibility is highly valuable. Steelpaint’s systems provide practical advantages that support everyday maintenance. ADD Marine will work with maritime customers to identify where Steelpaint coatings can improve repair cycles and corrosion protection across different areas of the vessel.
