X-Rite’s CiF3200 enables manufacturers to establish and share digital colour standards for small components, enhancing quality control processes and minimising rework. It is ideally suited to applications where precision, consistency, and detail are critical—such as in luxury goods, consumer electronics, and plastic component manufacturing.

X-Rite has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the CiF3200 imaging benchtop spectrophotometer, designed to deliver precise colour measurement for small, irregularly shaped, multi-coloured, and highly reflective items.

CiF3200 combines cutting-edge features including virtual apertures ranging from 2 to 12 mm, live on-screen targeting for accurate sample alignment, and automatic multi-colour extraction. This advanced imaging capability allows manufacturers to set and communicate digital colour standards with confidence and efficiency, reducing rework and improving product consistency.

A key strength of the CiF3200 is its simultaneous SPIN/SPEX measurement capability, which supports both diffuse and specular included/excluded readings. This enables the accurate assessment of brilliance, critical for surface-finished or metallic components that exhibit varying visual characteristics depending on light reflection.

“With the CiF3200, we’re addressing a unique need in the industry – how to consistently measure color on small or oddly shaped parts. By combining advanced targeting and imaging with sphere measurement technology and an aperture as small as 2mm, the CiF3200 allows customers to digitize their standards and streamline quality control in ways that simply weren’t possible before,” has stated Dave Visnovsky, Product Manager at X-Rite.

Key features of the CiF3200 include:

  • The ability to set and share digital colour standards for complex components
  • Live visual targeting for pinpoint measurement accuracy
  • Image capture and storage for enhanced traceability
  • The capability to extract multiple colours from a single sample for in-depth analysis
