Brenntag Specialties has recently signed a global distribution agreement with Calyxia to bring advanced microcapsule-based solutions to customers worldwide, with a focus on the paints and coatings industry.
Under the partnership, Brenntag will distribute Calyxia’s unique microencapsulation technology in the Americas and China, while offering selected products from the Catalyx™ and Calyshield™ range in key EMEA markets.
The high-performance microcapsules are designed for a variety of applications in coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers (CASE) and composites, providing formulators with enhanced control and performance.
Key products now available to Brenntag customers include Catalyx H encapsulated accelerators for epoxy coatings and Calyshield™ L encapsulated lubricants. Catalyx H microcapsules offer ambient-stable latency with rapid, on-demand curing for epoxy formulations, eliminating the need for cold-chain logistics, improving throughput, reducing energy consumption, and minimising scrap. The products are fully compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure, enabling enhanced performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
Calyshield L is a PFAS- and silicone-free lubricant replacement engineered for coatings. It ensures controlled release, improved abrasion resistance, and long-lasting performance while protecting the lubricant throughout processing. Its versatile formulation compatibility allows seamless integration into a wide range of coating systems.
