As the new Managing Director of CALDAN Group, Hans Gustav Rasmussen will be directly responsible for leading the company's next phase of growth and technological development within the surface treatment sector.

CALDAN Group, a global supplier of conveyor systems for the surface treatment industry, has announced the appointment of Hans Gustav Rasmussen as its new Managing Director with immediate effect. Hans Gustav Rasmussen, who previously served as the group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeds Claus Nørgaard following a mutual agreement with parent company Axel Johnson International.

With a 60-year legacy in the sector, CALDAN is highly regarded for designing, manufacturing, and installing advanced internal transport systems specifically engineered for automated painting, surface finishing, and industrial logistics worldwide. The leadership transition comes at a pivotal time as the company looks to further strengthen its engineering footprint within the global surface treatment market.

Rasmussen joined CALDAN as Group CFO in 2022 after 14 years in finance leadership roles at Vestas Wind Systems. Known for his hands-on approach and frequent presence on the production floor, Rasmussen’s strategy focuses heavily on optimising the entire value chain—a critical factor for the highly technical, precision-driven requirements of modern coating systems.

“My priority will be to support and develop the organisation in the best way, to keep relentless customer focus at the centre of everything we do, and to keep pushing the boundaries of what our technology can deliver,” has stated Hans Gustav Rasmussen.

Anton Kullh, Managing Director of Industrial Automation at Axel Johnson International, expressed strong confidence in the appointment, noting that Rasmussen's deep understanding of the business and robust leadership makes him exceptionally well-positioned to steer CALDAN's next phase of growth.

Over the last five years under Nørgaard's leadership, the group expanded its global footprint by more than 30%, which included completing its first major acquisition with the French engineering firm SEMA. To ensure a seamless transition for clients and partners in the finishing sector, Nørgaard and Rasmussen will work closely during an orderly handover period. The search for a new CFO has already commenced.
