Dürr Launches EcoAUC2 Control Unit for Enhanced Flexibility and Performance

Date: 26/02/2026

Dürr introduces the EcoAUC2, offering greater colour capacity, advanced functions, and integrated cleaning control.

Dürr has unveiled its new EcoAUC2 control unit, bringing enhanced functionality, expanded colour options, and, for the first time, the ability to control cleaning equipment for different applicators. The unit is designed as a central hub for efficient and reliable industrial painting processes.

Modern production environments demand control units that are precisely tailored to dosing technology and applicators. With the EcoAUC2, Dürr elevates application control performance while streamlining integration into contemporary plant concepts. The system now manages more technical components, including a high-speed unloader that improves cycle times and enhances safety when handling high voltages. An optional integrated air heater ensures consistent application quality, particularly in humid or warm conditions. Additional interfaces, such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and DeviceNet, allow seamless data exchange and straightforward integration into existing plant networks.

The EcoAUC2 now fully manages cleaning equipment for various Dürr atomisers. This significantly reduces integration effort, especially when ensuring high voltage is safely switched off before a high-speed rotary atomiser, such as the EcoBell2, enters the cleaning process. The control unit automatically detects de-energised applicators and only then initiates the cleaning cycle, preventing potentially hazardous situations.

The EcoAUC2 can control up to 20 colours – double that of its predecessor. “We are seeing a clear trend towards personalised applications, which is why we doubled the colour selection,” explains Stephan Voigt, Dürr product engineer. The unit also supports up to five hardener components, up from three, enabling complex and less frequent paint formulations.

All EcoAUC2 components are compactly housed in a control cabinet, which includes the process controller, compressed air system, visualisation interface, and connections for robot control and safety PLCs. Fully integrated within Dürr’s ready2integrate concept, the pre-tested, certified unit can be installed on-site with minimal adaptation. An intuitive visualisation system with an oversized display simplifies process monitoring and operation. The EcoAUC2 therefore extends the possibilities of automated application technology, offering flexibility, reliability, and versatility in industrial coating processes.

Dürr will showcase the EcoAUC2 at PaintExpo in Karlsruhe (Hall 3, Booth 3320) with a live demonstration. Additional information on processes, system innovations, and complementary solutions is available in Dürr’s latest industrial painting technology catalogue.
