The summit will take place from 2 to 4 February 2027, focusing on corrosion prevention, cold and icing, and operational reliability in extreme weather conditions.

Elinor Coatings, through its specialised division, the Aurora Center for Extreme Weather Materials, will host the third annual Cold Weather Readiness Summit from 2 to 4 February 2027. The technical conference will bring together scientists, engineers, operators and industry partners to discuss materials and technologies for improving performance and preventing corrosion in extremely cold environments.

The programme will cover three main themes:

  • Cold and Icing;
  • Corrosion;
  • Operations in the Cold.

Technical sessions will explore advanced materials development, mitigation strategies and technologies addressing the operational challenges associated with harsh winter conditions.

The 2027 edition will also introduce the summit’s first Student Poster Session, providing a platform for emerging researchers in cold-weather science and engineering. Submissions must present innovative approaches to improving life or operational efficiency within the theme of ‘Cold and Icing’. Students can address the topic from scientific, environmental or technological perspectives, connecting their research with practical cold-weather challenges.

Attendance at the Cold Weather Readiness Summit is by invitation only, although interested individuals may request to participate. The event aims to encourage collaboration between industry professionals, researchers and students to support further advances in cold-weather readiness.
