IMCD Group has recently opened a new Construction Laboratory in Indonesia, further strengthening its technical capabilities for coatings
across Southeast Asia. The new facility is integrated with IMCD’s long-established Coatings Laboratory in Jakarta, creating a single technical hub that brings together formulation development, testing and technical problem-solving.
IMCD has operated a Coatings Laboratory in Jakarta since 2018, supporting coatings and paint manufacturers with formulation expertise, technical advice and laboratory services. In 2024, the site underwent a full refurbishment to enhance collaboration and accelerate innovation. The addition of the Construction Laboratory builds on this investment, reinforcing Jakarta’s role as a regional centre of excellence.
Within coatings, the laboratory supports a broad range of applications, including decorative paints, industrial and metal coatings, as well as plastic and automotive coatings. The expanded hub focuses on addressing specific regional requirements, optimising formulations, resolving technical challenges and accelerating product development, while also supporting customer training initiatives.
