Date: 28/05/2026

InnoTrans takes place from 22 to 25 September 2026 in Berlin (Germany).

InnoTrans, the world’s premier trade fair for transport technology, has announced that EU Commissioner for Sustainable Mobility and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, will officially open its landmark anniversary edition this autumn.

Running from 22 to 25 September 2026 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, the 15th biennial event is set to host a high-profile influx of global political leaders and industry titans. Joining Commissioner Tzitzikostas at the opening ceremony will be Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder, alongside major industry players making their high-level debuts. Notably, the event marks the first major trade fair for Evelyn Palla in her tenure as CEO of Deutsche Bahn (DB), and Martin Sion as the new CEO of Alstom.

The opening panel, titled ‘Mobility on a global scale – Shaping projects and growth opportunities’, will feature prominent sector figures including Siemens Mobility CEO Michael Peter and Škoda CEO Petr Novotny.

“As the most important meeting place for the transport technology industry, InnoTrans stands out not only for its technical innovations and world premieres, but also for its intensive professional exchange,” has noted InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz.

At the heart of the four-day event is the InnoTrans Convention, a high-level dialogue platform tackling the industry's most pressing challenges, from cybersecurity to artificial intelligence. Key highlights of the 2026 programme include:

  • The Rail Leaders’ Summit (22 Sept): An exclusive, invitation-only gathering focusing on global rail resilience and infrastructure.
  • Dialogue Forums (23–25 Sept): Expert panels hosted by major industry bodies (including VDB, DVF, UNIFE, and ZVEI) covering subscription-based rail tech, ERTMS® development, and cybersecurity.
  • Specialist Forums: Dedicated tracks focusing on tunnel construction (STUVA), smart public transport (ETC Solutions), and autonomous bus scaling (DVF).
