The Equality 100 Award from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation

PPG has once again earned the Equality 100 Award, spotlighting twenty years of recognition for LGBTQ+ workplace policies and practices.

The international paints and coatings manufacturer PPG has recently announced that the company has achieved a 100% score on the 2023 Corporate Equality Index of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) workplace equality.

PPG has been listed on the index for twenty years and during 2022 it has increased its previous efforts, in order to embed equality in its practices and offer inclusive benefits. As a matter of fact, the company has enhanced its self-identification practices, established diverse recruiting partnerships and continued offering key health benefits to support LGBTQ+ employees and their partners.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is an American educational institution dedicated to supporting basic equal civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people at work and in every community. Established in 2002, its Corporate Equality Index is the related tool for evaluating the LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion policies of a company on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture;
  • Corporate social responsibility.
