Surface Technology GERMANY will take place from 5th to 7th May 2026.
In just a few weeks, Stuttgart will host SurfaceTechnology GERMANY, the premier industry gathering for surface technology. Over three days, companies from around the world will present solutions to today’s pressing challenges in the sector.
The surface technology industry faces ongoing pressures, including high energy costs, strict environmental regulations, skilled labour shortages, subdued order levels, and geopolitical uncertainty. Investments in digital automation and modernization of existing systems remain essential but resource-intensive.

SurfaceTechnology GERMANY provides a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, enabling knowledge transfer and networking to address real-world challenges,” has stated Ramtin Randjbar-Moshtaghin, Project Director at Deutsche Messe.
Surface technology is a key industrial enabler
The event is supported by the ZVO (Central Association of Surface Technology) and VDMA Surface Technology, both actively engaged in shaping policy to support businesses, jobs, and Germany’s industrial leadership.

- ZVO Pavilion: ~60 exhibitors under one roof.
- Surface Technology Process Chain exhibit, organized by WOTech GbR.
- STG.ExpertForum (German <> English): ~50 specialist presentations on topics such as AI-assisted surface technology, surfaces for energy applications, PFAS avoidance, and workforce development.
- Stuttgart Surface Technology Prize “THE SURFACE”, awarded by Fraunhofer IPA on the first day.
