AGTOS celebrates 20 years from its foundation by announcing new investments and expanding its offerings.

AGTOS, a global producer of shot blasting systems, is celebrating 20 years from its foundation. Established in 2001 in fact, the company has now become a global business partner for all areas of turbine wheel shot blasting technology, offering several types of shot blasting systems involving rubber belts, monorails, roller conveyors or wire mesh conveyors.

The economic impact of the pandemic has affected also the sales of AGTOS shot blasting machines, but the company implemented a programme to revamp the production lines and revise the range of the machine type offerings, the functions and the features. In terms of visual appeal, the company also decided to offer a new colour scheme for its shot blasting machines.

Quality solutions for clients’ needs

AGTOS’ inhouse designed turbine wheels and shot blasting machine are often used in three-shift operation, ranging from cleaning to deburring, from roughening to hardening to surface finishing of the most varied materials, so they require to adhere to high-quality standards. Besides, the company has also focused also on providing second-hand machines equipped with CE certification, as well as on supplying spare parts, according to the specific requirements of the clients.

AGTOS is also collaborating with other companies and the largest association of machine manufacturers in Germany, the VDMA, to enable future communication of shot blasting machines with other systems required in further process stages. A task force is dedicated to defining parameters for a common, branch-specific interface to accommodate an OPC UA for shot blasting systems. The OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture) is a standardised, secure communication protocol for machine-to-machine communication and industrial automation.

Furthermore, new AGTOS Service APP allows to receive tips and instruction in the case of maintenance and repair work directly from the service technicians. Supplementary documents such as drawings, illustrations and photos can be shared to provide detailed explanations. The entire activity is documented so that it is available for later digital (replay) purposes.

Modernisation and future plans

Both the Emsdetten headquarters of AGTOS and the production facility in Konin (Poland) have been recently expanded and modernised to provide better solutions to clients and increase the benefits for the employees of the company. In addition, also the showroom at the Emsdetten production facility has been upgraded. However, further investments are expected: the newly purchased laser cutting machine will be installed at the beginning of 2022 in order to optimise production workflows upon completion of the software integration. Moreover, the offices of all locations, already equipped with comfortable and ergonomic workstations, will be reorganised and updated.
