With over 1,000 participants from 60 countries and representatives from more than 100 pipeline operating companies, Pipeline Technology Conference 2025 set new records for attendance, global reach and technical scope.
The 20th edition of the Pipeline Technology Conference
(ptc) successfully concluded in Berlin, reaffirming its status as the premier international gathering for the pipeline industry.
“What began as a modest meeting has evolved into a global platform for innovation and collaboration. ptc demonstrates the power of open knowledge-sharing – as seen in our freely accessible ptc Pipeline Open Knowledge Base – and the value of learning from both successes and failures across the industry,” has stated Dennis Fandrich, Chairman of ptc and member of the management board at the EITEP Institute.
Held from 5th to 8th May at the Estrel Congress Center, ptc 2025 featured its most extensive programme to date, with more than 140 technical presentations delivered across 46 sessions. Six parallel tracks explored critical topics including hydrogen and CO₂ transport, digital twin technology, advanced leak detection, pipeline construction in challenging environments, artificial intelligence, and geohazard mitigation.
In addition to the technical sessions, the event included pre-conference training courses and high-level panel discussions on key emerging trends. A standout moment came on Thursday afternoon with the return of the Global Women in Pipeline Forum, held under the theme “Empowering Women, Engaging Men.” The programme also featured three exclusive roundtable discussions with pipeline operators, focusing on inline inspection (ILI) tools, illegal tapping, and hydrogen pipeline repurposing.
“The exhibition space was fully booked. A new feature, the Innovation Forum, added vibrancy to the main networking area, offering exhibitors a live stage for showcasing solutions and engaging directly with delegates,” has added Marian Ritter, EITEP board member and head of the organising committee.
Building on its global momentum, ptc is set to expand into Southeast Asia later this year. The inaugural Pipeline Technology Conference Asia will take place from 11–13 November 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, creating a new regional platform for pipeline professionals in the region. Meanwhile, the 21st edition of the Pipeline Technology Conference will return to Berlin from 27–30 April 2026, continuing its role as the global meeting point for the pipeline industry.
