Achala Danait will further drive innovation initiatives for the Indian subsidiary of Clariant.
Clariant, a global company specialised in sustainable specialty chemicals, has recently announced that the Board of Directors of Clariant India Limited had appointed Dr. Achala Danait as the new managing director of the subsidiary, effective from January 14th
2022. Danait will also maintain her role as Leading Innovation Officer for the Business Unit Industrial & Consumer Specialties of the company.
Danait possesses more the 30 years of experience within the industry and she holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) of Mumbai. The new managing director joined Clariant in 2013 as the head of the Regional Innovation Centre in India to help the company to foster an innovation mindset through several initiatives. In addition, Danait is also the Chairperson of the R&D Subcommittee of Indian Chemical Council and a mentor at Aspire For Her, a social start-up committed to changing the diversity equation in India.
