BIEMH Expands Global Footprint at Its 33rd Edition

Date: 20/02/2026

Nearly 70 countries to take part as organisers boost international promotion and launch new International Associations’ Area.

The 33rd edition of BIEMH is set to reinforce its status as a leading global benchmark for the machine-tool and advanced manufacturing sector, with strong participation from professional visitors, exhibitors and industry associations representing almost 70 countries. BIEMH 2026 is organised by AFM – Machine Tool Manufacturers, AIMHE – Machine Tools Importers, and Bilbao Exhibition Centre, with institutional backing from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and SPRI – Basque Government.

Internationalisation once again stands as one of the event’s core pillars. This year’s edition confirms BIEMH’s growing ability to attract innovation, expertise and high-level business opportunities, consolidating its strategic position on the international industrial stage.

Exhibitors from across Europe, the Americas and Asia — including Germany, Italy, the United States, China, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Türkiye and Brazil — will present cutting-edge solutions, advanced equipment and specialised services designed to address today’s manufacturing challenges.

A key new feature for 2026 will be the International Associations’ Area, a dedicated space for machine-tool manufacturers’ organisations from countries such as Italy, Poland, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Mexico, Germany, Portugal and Switzerland. The area will also host a Speakers’ Corner, where associations will showcase national projects, innovation strategies and sector developments.

On the demand side, international visitor attendance is expected to be particularly strong following an expanded global promotion campaign targeting new sectors and high-potential markets. India has emerged as a standout focus country, alongside the United States, Mexico, Germany, Türkiye, Portugal, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, France, Italy, China, Brazil and the Netherlands.

Industry professionals will gather across the six halls of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in search of suppliers, technological partnerships and turnkey production solutions. Many will participate in the Hosted Buyers’ Programme, designed to facilitate targeted B2B meetings between exhibitors and major purchasing decision-makers. Travel arrangements are currently being finalised, with buyers expected from around 20 countries.

This high level of international engagement reflects a strategic promotion effort aimed at attracting high-value technological offerings and qualified visitors with real investment capacity.
