Borchi® Gen 0311 can simplify dispersion without sacrificing color strength or stability - thus helping formulators improve efficiency while maintaining the performance standards demanded in industrial polyurethane applications.
Borchers, a global supplier of coating additives and a Milliken brand, has recently launched Borchi® Gen 0311. This high-molecular-weight wetting and dispersing agent is specifically engineered to streamline the pigment dispersion process within solvent-borne polyurethane coating systems.
The new additive targets a major operational pain point for formulators by allowing the efficient co-grinding of both organic and inorganic pigments in 2K solvent-borne PU industrial coatings. By eliminating the need for separate grinding processes, the technology reduces production complexity while ensuring deep, high-quality color performance.
“Borchi® Gen 0311 was developed to address a common formulation challenge, how to simplify dispersion without sacrificing color strength or stability. By enabling reliable co-grinding across a broad range of pigments, this technology helps formulators improve efficiency while maintaining the performance standards demanded in industrial polyurethane applications,” has stated Zuhal Tuncay, European Market Development Manager for Coating Additives.
Key Performance Advantages
- Enhanced Color Development: Delivers excellent color strength, supporting deeper shades and higher tinting efficiency.
- Lower Viscosity: Creates low-viscosity dispersions that improve handling and ease processing constraints.
- Long-Term Stability: Offers robust resistance to flocculation and settling, ensuring a consistent coating shelf-life over time.
- Regulatory Alignment: Formulated as an APEO-free and tin-free solution, meeting modern sustainability and regulatory expectations.
