Covestro has announced a two-year renewal of its strategic partnership with the German student team Sonnenwagen Aachen. This collaboration, which began in 2017, is now set to continue until 2028, positioning Covestro as the primary sponsor and technological partner.
The partnership focuses on revolutionising sustainable mobility through technical expertise. The team’s latest car, the “Covestro Æthon,” features over ten material solutions designed for peak performance:
- Surface Treatments: Low-energy consumption coatings that enhance the vehicle’s finish and efficiency.
- Battery Safety: Thermally conductive polymers used for advanced battery management.
- Circular Economy: Integration of recycled materials and sustainable impact-absorption solutions.
