The recognition of Evonik’s TEGO® Wet 580 Terra reflects a broader industry shift towards sustainable, bio-based materials, as manufacturers respond to increasing environmental expectations and regulatory pressures.

Evonik’s biosurfactant TEGO® Wet 580 Terra has been honoured with the Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the coatings industry, in recognition of its outstanding performance and sustainability credentials.

The award underscores Evonik’s position as a leader in delivering high-performance, environmentally responsible solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the coatings and inks sector. TEGO® Wet 580 Terra, a 100% natural and readily biodegradable biosurfactant, is produced through a pioneering fermentation process and offers significant advantages in substrate wetting and grinding time reduction.

This innovative approach replaces traditional fossil-based surfactants with a bio-based alternative that features low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and is safe for aquatic ecosystems.

“We are extremely proud that our TEGO® Wet 580 Terra has received this prestigious award. It highlights our leadership in sustainable innovation within the coatings industry, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. As the demand for eco-friendly solutions continues to grow, this product perfectly illustrates our pioneering approach to combining high performance with environmental responsibility. It can significantly support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals without sacrificing quality,” has stated Peggy Qu, Head of Evonik Coating Additives, Asia Pacific.
