The Finalists of BCF’s Coatings Care Awards 2023 Have Been Announced

The British Coatings Federation announced the companies that developed the most sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions for the coatings market.

The British Coatings Federation (BCF) has recently announced the finalists of its Coatings Care Awards 2023, an environmental programme that has been recording for 27 years the progresses made by the British paints and coatings industry in protecting the health of its employees, safeguarding its operations and processes and contributing to a more sustainable environment. The winners will be presented at the BCF Awards dinner on October 19th at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham.

The Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award is given to the company demonstrating the best-in-class performances across a wide range of key performance indicators, such as energy and solvent usage, waste production, recycling and VOC emissions. The shortlisted companies are:

  • Dacrylate Paints
  • Farrow and Ball
  • Pronto Industrial Paints
  • Teal & Mackrill
  • Tor Coatings

On the other hand, the Coatings Care Progress Award is presented to the company that made the most significant year-on-year performance improvement. The finalists are:

  • Becker Industrial Coatings
  • Flint Group
  • TAC Adhesives
  • Jotun Paints (Europe)
  • Pulse Printing Products

The latest edition of the Coatings Care Awards has shown that several companies from the coating industry were able to produce zero waste for landfill if compared to 28% a decade earlier – thus demonstrating their increased effort in providing sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. The accidents rates are also well below the latest UK Labour Force Survey for manufacturing, with RIDDOR-reported incidents falling compared to 2021, with no fires recorded at any BCF members sites.
