has announced the launch of Hypac™, a cutting-edge range of crosslinkers
designed to elevate the performance of packaging coatings while meeting the highest standards in safety and sustainability.
Crosslinkers are essential in enhancing coating durability, significantly improving resistance to cracking, abrasion, chemicals, moisture, and extreme temperatures. By strengthening adhesion and mechanical properties, they enable coatings to perform reliably across diverse environments, reducing wear, waste, and overall maintenance.
The Hypac™ portfolio comprises both traditional isocyanate and aziridine-based options as well as a new generation of more sustainable carbodiimide crosslinkers, giving customers flexibility to tailor performance to specific application needs.
At the heart of the Hypac™ launch is a new family of carbodiimide-based crosslinkers. These innovative materials match the high efficiency of aziridines and isocyanates while eliminating substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic (CMR). Unlike many conventional systems, carbodiimides are considered non-hazardous under the Global Harmonized System (GHS), offering a safer solution for both manufacturers and end-users.
Many products within the Hypac™ range cure at room temperature, are entirely water-based, and contain zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This combination results in a more user-friendly formulation with a lower environmental footprint and simplified handling across production settings.
