Surfex 2026 Unveils 70-Session Seminar Programme to Tackle Coatings Industry Challenges

Surfex 2026, the UK’s leading coatings exhibition, will host a comprehensive 70-session seminar programme on 9–10 June at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The free-to-attend sessions bring together leading universities, industry experts and trade bodies to explore the future of coatings.

Designed for formulators, development chemists, technical managers, regulatory professionals and business leaders, the seminars will deliver practical, actionable knowledge in concise 20-minute presentations. In addition, the exhibitor-led TechFocus programme will showcase application-driven innovation from leading suppliers.

Key themes include legislation and regulation, with updates on UK REACH, GB CLP and Packaging EPR. Sessions will also cover hazard communication, market access and broader legislative trends affecting adhesives, sealants and coatings. Contributors include OCCA, the British Coatings Federation (BCF), BASA, the Chemical Business Association (CBA) and the Solvents Industry Association (SIA).

  • Day 1 focuses on sustainability, highlighting PFAS-free technologies, recycling, carbon management and sustainable materials innovation. The afternoon Polymer Academy will explore advances in polymer science and formulation performance.
  • Day 2 will feature the Construction Academy and a concentrated coatings agenda, covering antimicrobial testing, barrier technologies and the industry’s path to Net Zero, alongside political and market updates from the BCF.
