The cement mixers manufacturer ZOOMLION relied on Interpon to switch from liquid to powder coatings.
The Interpon brand of AkzoNobel has recently announced that its ACE Primer and ACE 1000 topcoat have been employed to protect the cement mixers of the international manufacturer ZOOMLION from the damaging effects of the weather and the corrosive impact of diesel and other chemicals.
The powder coatings provided by Interpon allow to apply and easily and quickly combine a highly durable finish with superb edge coverage, since they are highly resistant to fading, abrasion and diesel spills – maintaining colour integrity
for longer. In addition, the adhesion, durability, flexibility and impact resistance of ACE Primer and ACE 1000 topcoat exceed the stringent industry standards.
“The anti-corrosion and weathering performance means the cement mixers remain rust free and keep performing for longer, which adds value to our customers. The Interpon ACE 1000 product also delivers a better looking, higher quality finish than a liquid coating on the mixer. (ACE) and is now able to produce more than 25,000 concrete mixers each year.
The company had decided to switch from liquid to powder coatings in order to reduce its carbon footprint, avoiding also the costs of managing harmful waste and the tax levied on Volatile Organic Compounds emissions. In 2018, it then started an ongoing project to build an advanced manufacturing centre at Yuanjiang (China) including a powder coating line.
