Covestro’s portfolio expansion will turbocharge sustainability for the decorative coatings industry.

Covestro, a global manufacturer of resins for decorative coatings, has recently announced the expansion of the Decovery® series to supply the market demands for safer and more sustainable bio-based products. Covestro is focusing its effort on supporting industry players with plant-based resins that have bio-based content up to 52%, verified according to C14 standard.

The decorative coatings industry is rapidly evolving and it is experiencing unprecedented requests, from regulatory bodies, professional painters and also consumers, for sustainable solutions which protect health and safety while still driving functionality and efficiency. Covestro is responding to the market’s needs by expanding its portfolio as well as offering technical advice, sustainability dialog workshops and marketing support.

The company’s strategy for a sustainable growth for all the industry, branded “A natural home to create more sustainable paints”, is based on three key elements: proprietary market insights, advanced resin technology toolbox and bio-based innovation.

“I’m thrilled to be introducing ‘A natural home to create more sustainable paints’ and launching our latest Decovery® innovations!” stated Gerjan van Laar, Marketing Manager Architectural at Covestro. “By expanding our range of more sustainable, safer, high-performance bio-based solutions that meet the needs of the decorative coatings market, we’re helping our customers differentiate themselves while making a positive impact on our industry. More than ever, for paint manufacturers, the switch to bio-based decorative coatings is within reach!”
