The production facility of DIC in India

The facility will triple the production capacity of Ideal Chemi Plast, DIC’s subsidiary in India.

In order to position itself to quickly respond to the increasing demands of the market, DIC Corporation has announced that it is planning to build a new facility for coating resins that will triple the production capacity of Ideal Chemi Plast Private Limited, the subsidiary of the company in India.

The site will cover an area of 48,500 m2 in the Supa industrial region of the Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra and will be focused on manufacturing acrylic, polyester and alkyd resins. The facility will employ a Zero Liquid Discharge system to treat all wastewater internally and produce clean water suitable for industrial use, while its reactors will be also used for the production of environment-friendly products developed by DIC Polymer Technical Centre - Asia Pacific in Thailand.

The Indian market has a projected annual growth rate of 9%, so DIC is strongly investing in expanding its services to capture local demand. As a matter of fact, it has acquired Ideal Chemi Plast in 2019 to combine its ability to develop high-end coating resins with the Indian company’s extensive sales channels, customer base, grasp of user needs and supply chain.

The construction works began in April 2022 and the operations are expected to start by July 2023.
