The Pakistani city of Mustafabad has been powered by the innovative Dulux paint from AkzoNobel.

The international paints and coatings supplier AkzoNobel has recently partnered with the Pakistani Akhuwat Foundation to implement the 'Let's Colour' project – granting great benefits to the 1000 residents of the city of Mustafabad powered by the innovative paint.

With average summer temperatures in the region approaching 50°C, the exteriors of the houses have been painted with Dulux Weathershield, a product with Keep Cool Technology™ capable of reducing surface temperatures by up to 5°C. In addition, some community spaces were revitalised by a team of 26 painters, mural artists and 41 AkzoNobel volunteers, working on the overall project for over four months by employing 8,250 litres of Dulux paint. In addition, 6,000 residents were introduced to a new world of colour.

“We are very proud to see the positive impact and tangible difference this ‘Let's Colour’ project has made to the local community. The transformation has instilled a renewed sense of pride and we’re excited to have painted a more vibrant future for Mustafabad,” has stated Mubbasher Omar, CEO of AkzoNobel Pakistan Limited.

AkzoNobel's colour experts chose 51 shades from a range of more than 2,000 available Dulux paints - ranging from nourishing greens to cosy yellows and from exuberant reds to calming blues - each carefully selected to inspire residents as well as to create more fun and enjoyable living spaces.

“We were delighted to partner with AkzoNobel on this important community led social initiative. The work that has been carried out reflects many of the pillars on which our own philosophy is based and will spark renewed hope in the residents, whose town has been given a vibrant new identity,” has added Muhammad Amjad Saqib, founder of the Akhuwat Foundation.
