PPG will build a new site in Toulouse to allow faster product delivery to local customers.

PPG has recently announced that it intends to invest around $17 million for the construction of an aerospace application support centre in Toulouse (France). The new facility will be strategically located near the aerospace customers of the company and the Toulouse Blagnac Airport.

The breaking ground for the new site of PPG is expected during the third quarter of 2022, while the operations should begin in the fourth quarter of 2023. It will be the fifth PPG application support centre in the EMEA region and the second in France, in addition to the one in Gonfreville.

“The construction of a new ASC will allow us to better serve and collaborate with our aerospace customers in the region. The new facility will enhance our ability to provide unparalleled responsiveness and customer support, leading to faster qualification of products and higher participation in new projects, earlier in the development cycle,” stated Dirk Thelen, the general manager of PPG for the Aerospace sector in the EMEA region.

At the new facility, PPG will host a development and qualification laboratory for aerospace materials, a colour blending area for coatings and a spray booth for hands-on training. The centre will also house filling lines for touch-up kits, a transparencies inspection cell, customised packaging capabilities for third-party products, chemical management resources and a customer service centre.

“ASC-Toulouse will be the 17th application support center in our worldwide network. As we continue to grow our reach globally, we can ensure that all of our customers have convenient access to our latest aerospace technologies, while also improving the delivery of our products and providing technical resources regionally,” concluded Thelen.
