Sun Chemical presented its latest innovations in functional coatings and sustainable technologies at the recent FTA FORUM INFOFLEX 2026. The company’s showcase centered on its ‘Experience. Transformation.’ Theme - highlighting how modern coating technologies can drive both aesthetic appeal and environmental compliance.

Sun Chemical showcased its extensive portfolio of primers and specialty coatings at FORUM INFOFLEX 2026. Designed to help converters meet stringent sustainability goals, the range includes matte-finish coatings for a premium shelf appearance, along with high-performance barrier solutions.

In particular, the company highlighted its alternative coatings to nitrocellulose, such as Duratort PFC, and certified compostable options, including Solimax AP coatings, which enable brands to transition to circular economy models without sacrificing durability.

Beyond product chemistry, Sun Chemical emphasised its backend technical support, offering life cycle assessment (LCA) and product carbon footprint (PCF) calculation tools. These services allowed converters to use data-backed insights to validate the environmental impact of their chosen coatings.

“Our innovations in functional coatings and adhesives were engineered to let converters boost operational productivity while directly supporting their sustainable goals,” has stated Rick Stokes, Vice-President of Market Management at Sun Chemical.
