the 4 Categories at BCF Awards 2025 shortlisted by venator

Venator was shortlisted for four 2025 BCF Awards in recognition of its sustainable innovation, progress in diversity and inclusion, and the outstanding leadership and potential of its employees.

Venator has been named a finalist in four categories at this year’s prestigious British Coatings Federation (BCF) Awards, with recognition for both its people and its purpose. Two employees are shortlisted for individual honours, while the business itself is acknowledged for its progress in sustainable innovation and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

The shortlist, compiled by an independent judging panel, highlights excellence, leadership and innovation across the coatings industry. Venator is in contention for:

  • Sustainable Innovation – V-PCF Tool
Launched in 2024, the Venator Product Carbon Footprint (V-PCF) Tool is a digital platform designed to calculate cradle-to-gate product carbon footprints in line with ISO 14067. The tool provides customers with transparent, product-specific carbon data to support their Scope 3 reporting.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Venator introduced a new DEI programme in 2024 aimed at embedding inclusive practices throughout the business. The initiative is already showing results, with an increase in both the number and percentage of female hires.
  • Rising Star – James Lund
James Lund, an Instrument Technician, has already received multiple academic and company awards thanks to his technical ability, innovative mindset and professional drive. His leadership potential makes him a strong contender in this highly competitive category.
  • Young Leader – Jack Harrison
Since joining in 2022, Jack Harrison has advanced rapidly to become Operations Manager at Venator’s Greatham manufacturing site. His technical expertise, leadership and impact across operations have secured him a place on the shortlist for Young Leader.

“The competition was incredibly strong again this year, perhaps one of the most impressive showings we've ever seen, with over 70 submissions from across the industry,” has stated Tom Bowtell, BCF Chief Executive.

“At Venator, our chemistry is more than just science - it’s the energy, expertise, and passion of our people that drive everything we do. We look forward to the event later this year and wish Jack, James and all other nominated individuals and companies the best of luck,” has added Rob Portsmouth, Executive Vice-President, Sustainability, EHS and HR at Venator.
