BASF Coatings’ facility in Greenville (Ohio, United States of America) has been honoured as the 2025 Business of the Year by the Darke County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC).
The Greenville team was particularly praised for its dedication to educational initiatives, especially in the promotion of STEM2D
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing, and Design) subjects. The site has actively supported outreach efforts aimed at engaging young students, with a special focus on female pupils, to foster interest in technical and design-related career paths.

Creating a robust community starts with employing local talent today while also participating in skills development for future employees and community leaders. Statistics show that girls’ enthusiasm for STEM subjects often drops significantly during middle school years. Addressing this issue, the BASF Coatings team has partnered with the Darke County Economic Development Office to lead programmes designed to inspire and support the next generation of women in STEM2D fields.
These initiatives not only enrich the educational landscape but also contribute to the creation of a more diverse and economically resilient community, a vision that has earned BASF Coatings Greenville a well-deserved spot as a community leader in 2025.
